Living at the Village

When you move to a retirement community, you may think you have to sacrifice space. But, at The Village at Clark-Lindsey, you have access to an entire campus. Your home extends beyond the doors of your apartment. Enjoy the fitness center, relaxing lounges, private dining areas, ample library with internet-connected computers, art gallery, game room and guest suites for your friends and family.

When it comes to cooking, the choice is yours. Each apartment features a fully-equipped kitchen. You will also enjoy the Coffee Café, a great morning social spot. Our casual lunch buffet offers dining room seating or on-the-go options to meet your lifestyle needs. For dinner, choose to dine alone or with friends in our restaurant-style dining room. Our culinary chef prepares the evening entrée with special features each night. You can entertain guests in our dining room, reserve a private dining room, or cater a private party in your home.

Our neighbor, the University of Illinois, offers a multitude of recreational and educational activities enjoyed by our residents. Experience the excitement of Big Ten football, Fighting Illini basketball and a host of other championship sports. The University also offers premier cultural and educational opportunities at one of the nation’s premier professional performing arts complexes. The Village provides transportation to many of these events.

The Village at Clark-Lindsey is home to a number of University of Illinois alumnae and retired professors. The campus continues to play an important role in their lives. Residents enjoy a wealth of activities in concert with the University of Illinois including continuing education programs, volunteer opportunities, intergenerational programs and recreational activities.

Many programs are offered on-site at The Village. Senior Scholars is our continuing education program located on the Clark-Lindsey campus. Aspiring world-class musicians and artists use our facility for rehearsal performances. Our Steinway Concert Grand Piano ensures residents a top-notch performance.

Most recently, The Village collaborated with the University of Illinois in a unique project that is sure to set the standard for outdoor recreational and physical opportunities in a garden setting. It is called New AGE, a concept that focuses on improving the health and quality of life of older adults.
